I said that I wasn’t going to do a Christmas letter this
year, but after 20+ years it is just hard to stop!! So here goes- - -
Lee and I continue to be active. I teach our Sunday School class and each of
us are on several committees. Lee still
works at his Playground often—his last project was adding on to the implement
shed. He is on the Economic Development
Board. He did resign from the board of
the nursing home. I belong to Sorosis
Study Club, a book club, Red Hat group.
Both of us are active in retired teachers—Lee joined to be eligible for
the long-term care insurance. He still
drives the ambulance and I am treasurer for East Coke County Ambulance
Service.
JANUARY—Started 2016 with all of our usual activities.
FEBRUARY—I spend a few days in Ft. Worth with LeAnn and
her family. (Notice that Lee seldom
travels with me—he says that his passport is expired and he can’t leave Coke
County!!)
MARCH—All the kids were here for spring break. LeAnn and family left about lunch on Friday
the 18th. I was going to
borrow Jim’s washer boards for church and he was showing me how to play. I threw a washer, stepped back and fell on my
right hip. Jim helped me up, but I
couldn’t walk so went to a walk-in clinic.
Ended up in the hospital with a broken hip and had surgery on Sunday the
20th. Transferred to Bronte
Health and Rehab Center on the 22nd.
APRIL—Monday the 4th went home!!
Anna
and Ada (LeAnn’s girls) spent a week here the last of the month and I really
put them to use as “gofers and picker uppers!!”
MAY—JUNE—Enjoyed the girls!! All four were here for several days. Anna and Ada were here, then Carter. Lots of fun!!
I was discharged from Physical Therapy on the 16th!! Yeah!!
Jordan is learning to sew. She made this dress with my help. Good job!!
Ada and Anna went to Red Hat with me at Fort Chadbourne.
JULY—Both LeAnn and Jim and families were here for July
4. Annual celebration at BHRC and Blackwell BBQ—we haven’t missed many
times in 30 years.
Jordan made skirts for all four girls using the same fabric. Cute!!
Carter is photogenic and has a cute personality!!
AUGUST—Anna and Ada were here for a little over a
week. Anna and I drove to Weatherford on
the 8th to pick up a new 2016 Chevrolet Traverse. I have really enjoyed it.
SEPTEMBER—School started and am continuing to sub at
Bronte and Blackwell. Still love the
kids!! Spent 8th-12th
in Big Spring with the girls so Jim and Carman to go to Las Vegas with her
family to see George Strait.
Love this picture of Carter reading to Jim.
OCTOBER—Regular monthly activities.
Jordan and Carter in costume for Halloween.
Ada (Harry Potter) and Anna (House elf) ready for Halloween.
NOVEMBER—Thanksgiving at our house on Thanksgiving for
our family. LeAnn, Jim, and families.
I am helping with the annual Sorosis Club Potato Bake--that's me on the left!!
DECEMBER—Merry Christmas!!
